I first became interested in nutrition after I graduated from college. I had packed on my narrow frame an extra 10 pounds, but managed to get it off after going to a few aerobic and weight training classes. I maintained that weight (115 to 118) pounds for nearly 15 years.
After I moved in with my partner, I began putting on weight. We ate out all the time for almost every meal. Between not eating nutritious food and the start of emotional eating, the pounds piled on.
At one point when my partner and I were on a five year break, and I managed to shed some pounds but I never reached my fighting weight of 115 pounds. And now, 25 years later, I don’t want to be that thin.

There were plenty of books, but I wanted a database that dietitians used, but not have to pay a hefty price. Luckily I found Nutribase, which was reasonably priced. Once I started using it, the pounds came off.
Best philips hue app mac. The only caveat to Nutribase is that it’s a Windows application. I switched over to Mac in 2010 and thought surely there were apps that were as comprehensive as Nutribase. Much to my disappointment, there wasn’t any that had as many features as Nutribase.

What I like about Cronometer is that it’s easy to use. You’re not stumbling around trying to find things. It’s laid out in a clean and logical manner. Perks include syncing to connected apps like the FitBit or Apple Watch as well as other devices.
The site itself includes a forum and a blog. Forum topics range on how to use the app to an informative forum on nutrition manned by dietitian and nutritionists. Blog topics include recipe round-ups, profiles of staffers, news about the company, and profiles on users.
Although I’m not a fan of subscription web-based apps, I give Cronometer an A+. I’ll definitely be renewing in 2020.
